Hillside Residence: A Modern Living With Amazing Views Of The Hill And San Francisco Bay

The Hillside Residence clearly speaks a contemporary architecture that follows the contour of the surrounding terrain. It is always challenging to build a modern living in a hilly topography, but Turnbull Griffin Haesloop Architects has successfully met the challenge. This residence features living room, kitchen, dining space, and master bedroom. Located in the middle of luscious green wood in San Francisco, this home offers impressive views. An open space living should be like this, light comes inside through the carved ceiling that brings a cheerful and peaceful ambiance to the house. The choice of colors for the interior is not too striking. In fact, it incorporates soft green colors and brown that connects the home interior and the environment. Wood material is extensively used here, seen from flooring and wall as well as the furniture. Not only generously-sized walls, the large sliding doors allow the inhabitants to overlook the magnificent green views of the hill. This is clearly a creative design of architecture with respect of its surrounding view. Magnificent scenery of green Mount Tamalpais and San Frasisco bay is one of the main strengths of this residence that can be enjoyed from the huge glass windows. According to the architect, this house also employs a sustainable living concept. It uses solar hot water panel to optimize the use of green energy. The shed roofs are also used to capture the sunlight for photovoltaic. Energy saving concept is implemented in the way it uses active heating and cooling system and a cistern for water runoff management.  Over all, this sustainable house is a comfortable place to spend time with family and friends.
