Meyerhofer Residence: A Residence Inspired By Mid-Century Architecture Style

Meeting the needs of a modern family in a vintage-styled house, the Osborn Architects completely renovated a residence into a comfortable and stylish living. The house located in La Canada, California, perfectly blends a mid century house with its surrounding view. One of the goals of the project is to respect the surrounding landscape and houses. As the result, the residence features a low roof allowing the inhabitants to enjoy the view of surrounding properties. The house that was made of a combination of steel, glass, stone and wood blends very well to create an inviting and homey interior design. The house is built on a sloping landscape and expansion of usable grade toward the home initial structure.

The interior detail of the house is simply amazing with its unique-shaped decorative elements. Some decorative items are very eye-catching such as the bottle lamps, wooden table lamps, abstract paintings, piece of woods from its original shape and many more. As you can see, wood material is extensively used here to speak its mid century inspiration. The cooking zone flooring employs dark color that goes coherently with the frame of the glass wall.
